Farm Rich HUGE Recall! Waycross, Georgia, facility.

There has been an even larger recall of the Farm Rich products, here is some more information:

Today we announced the decision to move forward with an expanded, comprehensive recall of all Farm Rich products produced in our Waycross, Georgia, facility. This recall includes Farm Rich Mini Quesadillas, Farm Rich Mini Pizza Slices, Farm Rich Mozzarella Bites, Farm Rich Philly Cheese Steaks and Farm Rich Mini Bacon Cheeseburgers with Best By Dates from January 1, 2013 to September 29, 2014.

You may be aware that we recalled several of our products last week because of possible E. coli contamination. Since then we have been putting all possible resources against finding the source of this problem and together with many leading scientific experts, we still can’t find the answer. This is simply unacceptable to us.

We have no information of any illnesses associated with these products included in the expanded recall, but your safety and the safety of all of our customers is our absolute number-one priority.

To eliminate any risk, and to ensure your safety and well-being, we are voluntarily recalling these products immediately.

Please note that this recall DOES NOT include:

Farm Rich Mozzarella Sticks – all sizes
Farm Rich Jalapeño Peppers – all sizes
Farm Rich Marinara Stuffed Mozzarella Sticks – all sizes
Farm Rich Breaded Mushrooms – all sizes
Farm Rich Stuffed Pretzel Bites – all sizes
Farm Rich Queso Cheese Bites – all sizes
Farm Rich Pepper Bites – all sizes
Farm Rich Onion Rings – all sizes
Farm Rich Meatballs – all varieties and all sizes
Farm Rich French Toast Sticks – all varieties and all sizes

These products are manufactured in different facilities and are not affected by this recall.

I shared with you that back in September 2012, Walmart made some changes to their internal coupon policy and to the register systems. Here is a copy of the full memo that I thought you guys might find helpful and interesting. I can’t share the whole thing, but the meat of what I think is important is the frequently asked questions memo below. Click to See Walmart Coupon Policy & Walmart Price Match Policy.

The Q& A’s that I find most valuable are questions 5,6 & 8.

I have made some changes to my initial impressions based on the full memo.

Walmart Coupon Policy Changes:

1. All Walmart Register systems were updated to accept the GS1 Date bar Codes that most coupons have switched to and all eventually will go to. According to the memo it will take until Oct for All registers to be updated.

2. All coupons are supposed to be scanned on the flatbed scanners, the handheld scanners are not updated and therefore it is “recommended” that there use is discontinued. This means that a store manager can allow the handheld scanners to be used but I wouldn’t expect it for sure.

3. The coupon must scan (not a new change) . Cashiers/CSM’s or Managers should not override or manually enter coupons.(YMMV)

4. If a coupon does not scan they are instructed to return the coupon to you. This applies to Printable Coupons and newspaper insert coupons.

Here are a few major reasons for these changes:

1. Coupon Fraud- My local Walmart took a hit of over $6,000.00 in August of fraudulent/counterfeit coupon. The highest month they had exceeded over $20,000 and are consistently over $10,000. The average dollar amount of coupon fraud per Walmart location has been as high as $10,00 per month. This number doesn’t seem like a huge number for a store that does millions of dollars in sales, but this number comes right off of the profit margin. There are nearly 4,000 Walmart Stores in the US, if you take the number of stores by the average amount of fraud the numbers get as high as $40,000,000 per month.

2.Employee Coupon Fraud- There have been several stories about massive scale coupon fraud being perpetrated on Walmart stores by there own employees.

3. Coupon Bar Decoding- Yes, another form of coupon fraud. The old bar codes had a lot of info that could be deciphered and used on products that they were not intended for. The new GS1 bar codes will eliminate that.

Price Matching at Walmart is a killer way to save some money! PRINT THIS and take it with you!

We’re committed to providing low prices every day. On everything. So if you find a lower advertised price on an identical product, tell us and we’ll match it. Right at the register.

We gladly match the price in the following types of ads:*

Buy one, get one free ads with a specified price
- Example: Buy one for $2.49, get one free (BOGO)
Competitors’ ads that feature a specific item for a specified price
Preferred shopping card prices for specific items that are in a printed ad
For fresh produce and meat items when the price is offered in the same unit type (lb. for lb.; each for each)

*The following are guidelines and limitations:

We will match any local competitor’s advertised price.
We do not require customers to have the ad with them to honor a competitor’s ad.
Items purchased must be identical to the ad (size, quantity, brand, flavor, color, etc.)

We do not match the price in the following types of competitor ads:

Basically, if you take your local grocery store ad and see a great deal on Blue Bell ice cream priced at $3 a 1/2 gallon, Walmart has it for $6 you can take your local ad and when you check out show them the price and they will override their register to give you the cheaper price. It has to be a normal sale price, no weird sales, B1G1 free that don’t state the price or anything like that.

Price matching alone can save you a ton of money at Walmart. Why price match? Because I don’t want to run all over the city to different stores to get the good deals, I would rather just pick it up all in one place!

Now I have found that when you load your groceries onto the belt at Walmart you HAVE to have your ad ready, when they get to that item you must give them the competitors ad RIGHT THEN so they can change the price. If you wait until they are done ringing you up to show them the price match they will not go back and change the prices. Just a tip!

You may find it helpful to print out and carry a copy of the Walmart price match policy with you.

5 Steps to Successful Price-Matching at Walmart:

Check the other grocery stores sales ad’s for great deals. Make a list of the items and prices. Check to see what coupons you have or can print to match up with these sales. Check electronics, I have saved HUGE this way at Walmart!
Take a look at the price matching policy. They will not do B1G1 free sales that do not have a stated price, but they will do 2 for $4 or 2/$4. They will also NOT do % off, like 25% off all soda.
Go shopping! Bring your other store ad’s with you. Most will require that you have them. Don’t cut them up, they will need to verify the dates on them. You can only use a current ad.
I always place items that I am NOT price matching on the belt first. Then I place my items that I am price matching and lay the ad on top of them so I don’t forget… or get distracted by children! I inform the cashier that I am price matching and show them the ad. I saw a woman once that had placed sticky notes on her items, the cashier LOVED her! I don’t have that kind of time, but it was a good idea!
Do the “Happy Dance” that you saved a bunch of money!

Hi! Price Matching at Walmart is a killer way to save some money! Here is some info to get you started. Then when you are done, go to the links at the bottom to see what people are price matching at their Walmarts in your area!

Basically, if you take your local grocery store ad and see a great deal on Coke for example. Store A has it on sale for $3.00 per 12 pack and Walmart carries it for $3.98 you can simply tell them which store at what price and they will override their register to give you the cheaper price. It has to be a normal sale price, no weird sales like Buy this product and get a different product free. You technically don’t even need the ad.

There is a process that I use to make things go a little smoother. I have found that when you load your groceries onto the belt at Walmart you need to be ready and organized. I put all of my “full price” items on the belt first. When the cashier gets to that items that you want to price match, you must give them the competitors price RIGHT THEN so they can change the price. If you wait until they are done ringing you up to show them the price match they will not happily go back and change the prices. I saw a woman once that had placed sticky notes on her items, the cashier LOVED her! I don’t have that kind of time, but it was a good idea!Just a tip!
