Personalized Halloween Treat Tote Bags only $2!

Oct 12 by Paul Ivanovsky Leave a Comment

The Halloween Tote Bags are BACK! For $2 you can get a personalized tote bag for your child. The designs are new and bright this year.

My Sister actually made a “coupon binder bag” last year with her $2 bag. My little niece also has the same bag from last year that she has used for ballet class with her shoes and change of clothes.

* You can also upload a picture if you want to personalize it that way.

This is a FAVORITE treat for our kids to make their own bags. A few have them from previous years and so I have 2 kids that get to make their own this year.

You can choose to have an image on the back side for an additional charge. I personally would not pay it. Also, make sure to skip all the additional offers, just keep hitting “next” until you get to check out. Always choose the cheapest and slowest shipping. It says 20 days but it is only usually 7! Shipping will be around $5.

Go HERE to get started!

* For those ordering more then 1, it will only give you the tote for $2 on the first item. I tried it… I suggest ordering 1, then using a different email to order additional totes if you want more then 1.

Halloween Homemade Treat Ideas – Nutter Butter Ghosts.

Oct 3 by Paul Ivanovsky 3 Comments

This is a “guest post” from my Wife. She and the kids made these last week, as they do  every year. If you are allergic to peanut butter, you can substitute any oblong shaped cookie. There are a few vanilla cream filled ones I can think of.

Nutter Butter Halloween ghosts are a long tradition in our home. I remember my Mom making these when I was a teenager.

They are really easy, inexpensive and the kids can help do everything!

You will need Nutter Butters ( $3.47) Almond Bark ($2.98) and either Mini Morsels ($2.28) for the eyes or Mini Reeses Pieces ($1.98).

Chop up the Almond bark and melt in a double boiler or in the microwave. I don’t have a double boiler and so I do mine in a sauce pan.

You have to do this on the LOWEST heat possible and it will take a good 10 minutes to start melting good, but any higher heat and you will ruin the chocolate.

In the mean time, try and keep the kids out of the cookies!

Once the chocolate is smooth and all melted you are going to start dipping the cookies. I remove it from the heat because I let the kids do this. Every now and then you have to stick the pan back on to keep it melted.

Dip each cookie about 2/3 the way in. Shake them a little to get the excess off and sometimes I dip them a second time.

If you have any candy left…

This is where I grab kids and they can help either dip cookies or stick the eyes on.

We did one ghost with mini chocolate chip cookies and one with mini Reeses Pieces. Then we voted. The mini Reese pieces won because they were a little bigger.

After dipping, place them on wax paper, parchment paper or a surface where they won’t stick. You can make the chocolate harden faster by sticking them in the freezer or fridge, but I just let mine harden for about an hour on the counter.

Then you can place them in little gift baggies or boxes and give them away!

I used clear plastic gift bags ($1.99) from Walmart, ribbon from Dollar Tree ($1) and pumpkin and cat cut outs ($1.50 for 12)  from Targets Dollar Spot.

Total cost for 3 cookies in a bag with decoration: $1.15

Halloween Treat Gift Giving Supplies at Walmart

Sep 30 by Paul Ivanovsky Leave a Comment

For all you crafty and homemaking treat types, there is a TON of good stuff at Walmart this year. Much better then last year for sure. They have all kinds treat bags, buckets, decorating kits, sprinkles, cookie cutters and much more.

Each box had ideas and recipes on them to make it easier to come up with your own treats.

Most of it is Wilton brand, but there were a few others and some Great Value options. We picked a few things up today and I made some Halloween treats with the kids that I will post a little later on.

Between coupons and price matching, making treats for your kids classes, people at church and neighbors should not cost you a fortune.

Treat bags started at $.97 and up. Sprinkles were $2.57 and up to $4.88.

Sep 24 by Paul Ivanovsky Leave a Comment

Walmart carries some gluten free products and I am seeing more and more everyday. Coupons are also starting to come out to help with the higher cost of gluten free eating. Although this isn’t a Walmart deal, I know that a lot of you are struggling with paying the extra cost for gluten free food. So I wanted to post something that might help.

Groupon today has a really cool deal on some Gluten Free items/products from GlutenFreely.com. You can get a $50 voucher to their online store today for ONLY $25!

We don’t necessarily eat gluten free, although my son is starting to so I took a look around their site. Even if you don’t eat gluten free, this is a great voucher just to use to buy FOOD!

Choose Between Two Options

  • $25 for $50 worth of gluten-free food and products
  • $39 for $85 worth of gluten-free food and products, including free shipping

GlutenFreely.com also hosts a wealth of information that helps individuals, families, and their supportive stuffed animals keep gluten-free lifestyles. Online visitors can look uprecipes, learn how to parent a child with Celiac disease, or even browse answers from medical professionals to frequently asked questions with the site’s Ask a Doc series.

**Thanks Amber D. for this deal! If you are new to Groupon and have never signed up, you can do so HERE and Amber gets credit!
