Back to School: Staples Week of 7/31

bic staples Usually Staples hits it out of the park with all their Back to School deals but this year it looks like they are playing it safe. Most of their items are exactly the same as Walmart’s prices. Like the Crayola crayons are 0.50, the folders are $0.17, index cards $0.48.

That is until you get to the Bic Soft Feel Retractable Ball Pens 5pk for only $0.50, and they are back in the game! I mentioned earlier this week that you can find a HOT Money Maker when you price match Staples Ad and today is the day to do so! Finally Walgreens has some Back to School deals worth mentioning! Until now I think only Office Depot has had great deals that were lower than Walmart…. that is until NOW!

Starting today, you can head over to Walgreens and score some incredible deals. Most of them you can’t price match at Walmart because they are Wexford brand and Walmart doesn’t carry that brand.

Don’t forget when you are shopping for your Back to School to think about your office and things you need around there. This is the best prices of the year, if you use paper, get it now! How about highlighters, pencils, staplers, staples, now is the time to stock up for the entire year.

Tax Free Weekend Dates for 2016 by State

Tax FREE weekend 2016

This weekend Georgia is in the house! This is your Tax FREE weekend!

Don’t forget Tax free weekend 2016 is here, starting August 5th if you are in Texas! It is hard to get excited about a sale where you are saving 8.25% BUT the sales that they run on top of that are killer!

The tax free weekend for general merchandise purchased in Texas is scheduled for August 5-7th, 2015 and applies to the following items:

Clothing and footwear under $100
School supplies under $100
Backpacks under $100 for elementary and secondary students
Includes layaway items

Keep in mind, too, that not all general merchandise items are included in the sales tax holiday. For example, cowboy boots and climbing boots are tax-free, but ski boots are still taxed during Texas’ tax free weekend. In fact, many sporting goods are not included in the sales tax holiday at all in Texas, like cleats, football pads, and protective helmets, so make sure that you read Texas’ Sales Tax Holiday web page before heading out to the mall.

Each state will vary by what items are included in the Tax Free Weekend so be sure to check out the links before heading out the door to shop.
