To contribute, simply leave your donations at your mailbox for the carrier to pick up during his or her regular rounds. They suggest canned soup, meats and fish, vegetables, fruits and juices. Boxed cereal, pasta and rice are also welcome

Beyond the Call of Duty…

The Stamp Out Hunger food drive is a nationwide effort that provides food to local food banks and pantries that would otherwise be faced with depleted stocks during the summer months. Food banks across the country continue to experience record demand for emergency food assistance.

The nation’s 210,000 letter carriers will collect food donations left at the mailboxes of generous Americans in more than 10,000 communities and deliver them to food banks and other hunger relief organizations.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the Stamp Out Hunger food drive is the nation’s largest single- day food drive, having collected more than one billion pounds of food since its inception in 1993. In 2011, generous Americans donated 70.2 million pounds of food, which marked the eighth consecutive year that at least 70 million pounds were collected.

Campbell Soup Company will kick off this year’s food drive with a pledge to donate one million pounds of food to Feeding America.

The other day I told you about Walmart’s Fresh Meat Guarantee. That statement was built on bits and piece of information I was receiving. You can now view for yourself their official press release. It’s all pretty much what I told you the other day. If you are unsatisfied with your Walmart USDA Choice Steak simply bring the receipt back for a full refund.

Walmart is conducting a multi-city search for the chef with the best steak-grilling skills in the country; the Walmart Choice Steak Challenge presented by Kingsford Charcoal and Coca-Cola will determine who grills the best steak in town. Each chef will be firing up grilled rib eyes, allowing shoppers the chance to decide which chef moves on to the May 22nd New York City finale. All events will take place in Walmart parking lots and be judged by shoppers, who will get to try the steak and wash it down with a refreshing Coca-Cola Zero, free of charge. One finalist from each of the eight cities including Tampa, Miami, Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, St. Louis, Nashville and Atlanta, will be selected to compete in New York City on May 22nd, for top honors in a contest judged by champion pit master Chris Lilly and other food experts.

Walmart Dinner and Coupons: What I Made for Dinner with my Kraft Fresh Take Coupons!

The Kraft Fresh take coupon is back and I am really happy about that. This is what I made with my Kraft Fresh Take, keep in mind you can use virtually any meat with these! I found a great deal on these center cut pork chops for $.99 a pound so I jumped on it! Here is how it all went down! I like to add a little chicken broth to the Brown rice it gives it a great flavor. Just a little butter and some Morton’s Season-All on the Veggies and VOILA!! Dinner is Awesome!!
