Walmart Is Stepping it up on Holiday Price Matching and other Great Incentives to Make Walmart the place to Shop!!!

Walmart is making it even easier to make sure you get the best possible prices this Holiday Season. There really is no reason to shop anywhere else. Walmart has announced that even if you have already purchased an item and then you find it at a lower price, you will get the difference in the form of a Walmart Gift Card. It sounds too good to be true. At the risk of sounding like the late Billy Mayz, “Wait, that’s not all”, they are even going to honor this on Layaway purchases. Below is the article from AP.

1. Purchases must be Make from Nov 1- Dec 25th
2. You must bring in the competitor ad AND your receipt to receive the Price Match Difference
3. Black Friday and Internet Prices are Excluded

Wal-Mart has also announced a number of other shopping incentives this season including layaway on purchases over $15, free shipping on most Walmart.com products, no interest on Wal-Mart credit card purchases if they are paid for in full within six months, and a 10-cent discount on each gallon of gas bought at participating Murphy USA or Wal-Mart stations.

By ANNE D’INNOCENZIO – AP Retail Writer | AP – 6 hrs agoNEW YORK (AP) — Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world’s largest retailer, is announcing a new holiday price-matching strategy that aims to pull in procrastinators early by giving them a big incentive: a guarantee they’ll get the lowest prices no matter when they buy during the season.

The Bentonville, Ark., discounter said Monday it will be matching prices on all its products — even after purchases are made. Shoppers who bought a product — whether on its website or in its stores — from Nov. 1 to Dec. 25 but then find the identical product for less at another rival later will receive a gift card for the price difference.

The price guarantee comes as Wal-Mart aims to solidify its position as the low-price leader and should raise the stakes for the holiday 2011 season.

CheapSally.com has sponsored a contest to give a blogger a part time job for 2012 that pays A LOT of money. I feel really weird in this economy asking people to help get me a part time job for $100,000. It would really help so that both Tiffany and I could work on our blogs and on bringing you all the best deals full time. It is a very long contest and you guys can only help me by voting with the first two steps of the contest. The last leg of the contest is completely up to me to prove that I can find the best deals. Round 1 – Initial Voting Period

To celebrate two of the biggest shopping days of the year, each vote received on Black Friday (11/25) and Cyber Monday (11/28) will count as two votes. This is where the competition is really going to heat up, with the 5 vote-leaders from each state vying for the most votes. Contestants should think creatively to promote themselves to voters. The top vote-getter in each state moves on to Round 3.
Round 3 – Online Sourcing Contest
December 1—December 21. Cheap Sally will announce a specific product, one for each day. Beginning at 12:00am EST, contestants have 24 hours to shop for that product using Cheap Sally’s coupons. Points will be award as follows:
One point for each dollar below the product’s highest retail price submitted by a contestant;
One point for each dollar saved with a Cheap Sally coupon. Feel free to submit any coupons you find to the site to help your cause.

Huge News: Walmart Brings Back Layaway for the Holidays.

I told you guys a few months ago that Walmart was bringing back Layaway. Thy just announced Layaway is available starting Oct 17 with final payment and pickup by Dec. 16th! I know this is a tough economy and this will really help to avoid the last minute shopping after saving your money for months. There is nothing worse than saving up for months for the kiddos and then not being able to find what they really really want. This is also a great alternative to using credit cards to pay for Christmas this year and avoid piling up the debt!

It does stink that you can’t use it for Black Friday items, but that is already total chaos so I understand that.

Christmas Layaway Is Easy at Walmart Stores
The convenience of Christmas Layaway is now available on eligible toys and electronics that you purchase at your nearby Walmart store. It’s easy to take advantage of Christmas Layaway from Oct. 17 until you make your final payment and pick up your items by December 16, 2011. Just place your eligible items on layaway at the Walmart.com desk in your local store, where you will also pick up the items. Each item must be $15 or more and your total purchase must be over $50. There is a $5 service charge, and you can make payments on your Christmas Layaway items at any register in your Walmart store. Christmas Layaway is not offered on Friday, November 25, 2011 and is not offered on wireless phones that require contracts. Cancellation and service fees may vary by state and are non-refundable. Our store associates can provide you with complete details on these fees and any other restrictions that may apply. Price Matching Toys R Us Door Buster Sale

Toys R Us is having a 2-day Door Buster sale starting tomorrow. This is a good time to try your hand at price matching. Over Black Friday Walmart did price match Toys R Us’ Door Buster sale. But, it will be up to your Walmart whether they honor this sale or not. That is why I included the Price Matching policy from Walmart. If you notice there is a disclaimer that store managers make the final decision. Hopefully your stores will honor this sale because you should be able to get some really great deals! Make sure you have the ad with you to price match! Good Luck! I will be trying this out at my local store, and I will let you know what I am able to get. You do the same.
