During a lice epidemic at my kids’ school, they sent home a note recommending that instead of a chemical lice treatment, we use mayonnaise. All you have to do is coat the hair in a thick coat of mayo, cover it with a shower cap and leave it for several hours, and it suffocates the nasty little bugs. Then you have to comb out the nits. So, watch for a good deal on mayo, and you’ll be all set with a chemical free lice treatment.
We used Lice MD, they have a leave in spray that works wonders! Unfortunately in my school district they no longer send the kid home if they have head lice 🙁 so kids keep reinfesting each other 🙁
