Black Friday Gameplan- Top 5 Black Friday Tips: How Bad Do You Want It?

I have just come out of my Turkey Coma and I am ready to get my Black Friday on. Here are a few tips and answers to questions I commonly get.

1. How Bad Do You Want it?: Leave yourself plenty of time to get in line, in my experience you need at least 4 hours prior to the item going on sale. Wear comfortable shoes

2. Price Matching: Bring your ads you DO NEED THEM to Price Match Black Friday Sales. You can only price match the EXACT SAME ITEM. Really close doesn’t count, it has to match SKU Numbers for electronic such as TV’s, Computers and Printers. They must be local store ads, no online sales will be price matched.

3. Layaway: Layaway is open on Black Friday, it IS NOT AVAILABLE for Black Friday Sale Item or Limited Quality Items.

4. Be Courteous and make it easy on yourself: Leave the kids at home. This is not the place or the time for little ones. If you need to get a babysitter then do it. I see too many little kids having a miserable time, the parents are irritable and when this happens it seems like everyone has a little diaper rash. There are plenty of online deals to be found if you can’t find anyone to watch the little ones.

5. Don’t Fly Solo: If you can go with a friend. It is going to be a long boring night waiting in line. Make sure your phones are charged you are properly hydrated or should I say caffeinated. Make friends with the people around you and make a plan early that if anyone around you has to go to the restroom that you will save each others place in line.

** Paul is playing football this morning in the annual “Turkey Bowl” where grown men try to play football as if they exercise like this everyday. It usually results in a pulled groin or hamstring, which requires them to sit on the couch for the weekend and watch TV.

I am totally fine with that, as it is just one weekend a year, well aside from the playoffs, Super Bowl weekend, New Years Day, pre-season weekends etc. 🙂

Paul will be back tonight (with me tagging along) while we blog live from our Walmart, interviewing people in line, and reporting from the craziness as Black Friday officially starts! Catch you then!

Many of you have heard me talk about the Elf on the Shelf, who has come to visit my kids this year to help them remember to be good for Santa Clause. We did a little video and everything introducing him that if you are board off your rocker you can watch over HERE. 

Ironically however, our Elf “Chocolate Buddy” is a little bit mischievous himself!

We found him the other morning inside the candy jar, with empty wrappers. We found him in the oven… which meant MOM could NOT make dinner and we HAD to eat out. Bad Elf! 🙂

This morning, we found him like this. Hmmmmmm?

And then we found the children like this……

Oh BAD Elf! He had colored all their noses PURPLE! I mean ALL the noses purple, including the older children who refused to be photographed in case their future prom date might possibly be reading this, and decide to not ask them out because an Elf colored their nose purple years earlier!

When I say ALL, I mean even MOM’s nose! See if I fall asleep again before the other “adult” in the house, who thought it might be a good idea to “help” Chocolate Buddy play his prank!

What a fun morning we have had! Our big kids have very funny senses of humor and are still giggling about their noses.
