If you are the *%*)^#%@* that stole all the coupons out of the lunch boxes at my store, please close the browser and don’t come back to my site again. Thanks.
Thank you on the last part of the post…That is one of my pet peeves! Also the people that take every coupon on a tearpad! I ordered some coupons on ebay not long ago. When they arrived I was annoyed to see they had been taken from a tearpad, all 10 of them. I emailed the seller to complain and she merely said she didn’t take them someone gave them to her so she sold them. I think that is completely wrong. In my area the tearpads are always empty…I think someone takes them all and sells them! You don’t need a coupon code of ethics to know–This behavior is WRONG, if you aren’t buying the product leave the coupon for the buyer they are intended for and if you take coupons from a tearpad leave enough so others can have one also!
Rita I usually take 4 coupons off a tear pad. My store limitsto 4 like coupons. My niece thought she was doing me a favor a few weeks ago and brought me like 20 tearpads for ziploc bags. I kept 4 and took the rest back and put them on the shelf near the product the next time I went shopping. I also told my niece for future, please only get me 4. Trying to teach the young ones good coupon skills too. The lady instead of selling them could have taken them to the store and left them for someone else. I say she took them to sell them, no question.
I was wondering when it was going to happen….I hate a thief
REALLY! Couponing is turning out to be “all about me” latley! Stop stealing and stop clearing shelves and remember to think of your fellow couponer!!
Well, what would you expect from a tv show called “Extreme Couponing” that IS all about “me”? It has fueled this….
but “all about me” has been a growing cancer in society in the last 30 years, and I don’t see it changing…only getting worse.
It’s human nature, and it’s a side of human nature that has been glorified in society, whether it be reality shows, politics, sports, etc…
Just the way it is now.
Wow Lisa, how do you really feel about Extreme Couponing? I can’t say I blame you, people are nuts. I hope you liked our episode though. 🙂
I can’t speak for Lisa but I know I only liked half of your episode;-) The other half was pretty bad.
Paul you are too funny, LOL! Someone took all the coupons out of all the lunch boxes? Thanxs for the heads up. I will make sure to check if they are in the bag before I purchase them. I am still laughing at your comment! :o)
I have one word for all of the earlier comments …. AMEN!
I had this happen in front of me 2 ladies were taking the inserts from the sunday paper right in the front of the store on Sunday!! I was SO mad! Karma Karma Karma! =)
I had a good laugh at, “if you are the $^#*I&% that stole all the coupons” Thanks for saying what we all feel. I went to Acme near me today wanting to buy the new nutragrain bars and ALL the $1 off 1 peelies had been removed. My hubby loves the new superfruit fusion and I could have scored them for $1.49 a box. =(
It wasn’t me I promise. LOL. I heard about this happening a lot last year. People can be so greedy.
That is out right stealing!!! The kind of people who do that will have fate turn around on them and bite them in the arse!! I hope that door alarm goes off on them when they walk thru the douple out doors at Walmart…….LOL
Not that I don’t agree with you because I do think it’s wrong and very greedy of people, but the reality of it is most people wouldn’t know the coupons are even in there if it weren’t broadcasted on sites like this. Again, not a slam against you and what you do….but just one of the things that go along with it. People are told to watch out for this coupon tear pads, peelies, etc….not everyone follows a moral compass…..
Hmmm…how is this any different from taking peeled of products and then using them on other products? Or not using them that day. I don’t live in your area of even your state-but I take peelies all the time and people are lying to themselves if they havent taken them at one time or another. Just saying :/
opening up a product that says coupons inside is completely different and wrong. do you open up cereal boxes and steal toys for your kids?
You hit the nail on the head though….opening…..meaning you opened several lunchboxes to know they were all gone….and you didn’t say you purchased it. Ya know?? So does that mean you open cereal boxes in the store to make sure the toy is still in there before you buy it?? Don’t get me wrong, the practice is wrong….but I guess I don’t feel like your defense holds much seeing that you opened them to even know that ALL of them were gone….just saying!! Curiosity killed the cat….
I opened them with the approval of the store manager so I could report which coupons were available if you bought the product. My point with the cereal box was the TAKING of the toy. cereal boxes have to be destroyed to be opened, the lunch boxes have zippers which in no way damages the product.
I’m sorry, but I have to chime in – you said that there were none left in your store because “*%*)^#%@*” took them all – so I guess I’m wondering how you reported it if you never found one?
Besides, I’m in agreement with ShelleyB’s comment above. When you report things about looking out for these coupons, it doesn’t encourage people to puy the product, it encourages them to go for the coupons. And ya know, kudos to kristin for being honest – something I dare say MANY wouldn’t come clean about. Even Amy above takes four when it’s usually stated “take one”. The point is that people do it -not much can be done about it!
But beyond that, you seem to be very defensive and almost ticked off about people offering their honest opinions, but that is what you get when you “*%*)^#%@*” about things! lol Had that comment alone been left off then you wouldn’t have these kinds of comments.
Thanks for the information! I’m sure it takes a great deal of your time of post all these savings and I appreciate your efforts.
Paul was in the right here. Even if he didn’t have the managers approval…which he did, the lunchboxes can be zipped back up. A box of cereal can not be resealed and taking a peelie off of a product that you are not buying is wrong too! Paul is trying to help others save money, not help them scam the system and other people. Regardless of where people get their ideas they still need to follow their conscious! Thanks Paul for all that you do!
@ Nikki, The meaning of “all the coupons” was out of the particular boxes, they didn’t take them out of every lunch box in Walmart. The lunch boxes advertised 80.00 in coupons when you buy the product. I guess I should have likened it to stealing inserts out of newspapers, when I report the coupons that are coming out does it encourage people to go steal the inserts? What kind of logic are you using. Yes I get a little pissed off when people advocate stealing on my site and have to make sure that everyone is aware that I don’t condone it. The MFG paid to have those coupons put in those lunch boxes and someone STOLE them, its not grey area. I have no problem that you have an opinion but I also have mine.
I didn’t advocate stealing either – nor did I say it was right – NOR did I say that you advocate it. I said I understood the point made above – that by letting them know to look for them encourages them to actually go and seek them out which possibly leads to them being taken. Is it really that hard for you to consider that one of your readers could do that? Surely not. People have their own morale compass and no you don’t control them. I get that – but I think that you are being so defensive that you won’t even consider that as a possibility. Simple as that. And yes, I know that taking inserts is stealing – did you not see the news story done on that recently? As the news channel reports (mind you this is what THEY said) the show Extreme Couponing have encouraged people to step up their game on savings and that this was one of the fallouts and was not just problem was being seen not just in certain areas, but nationwide. They have made arrests for insert thefts. I would support them being arrested over taking the lunch box coupons as well!!
Oh and about the inserts – you say “preview” and “pick you up a few extra” on a good week….but it’s more about accessibility. Most inserts are contained in a newspaper and at least around here (unless you’re stalking your neighbor’s driveway in the early am) – going into a store and having access enough to steal the insert is a little different than a peelie or these similar coupons. You have to actually seek out these coupons.
No matter how flat you make a pancake it still has 2 sides – I can see both sides as I said – I just didn’t know that expressing that I could see these points of view was going to cause you grief.
I honestly have no idea what side you are now on, Kristin’s original comment likened taken the coupons out of a product(that are not for that product) to the taking of peelies. I think peelies are a grey area(90% have to be used on that product family) and taking coupon inserts out of a product is stealing. That is the only point I have ever made. There are not two sides in my opinion on this, its not casuing me grief and I of course know that it is possible that a reader could have done it. I simply stated that if you did steal the inserts out of the lunch boxes, I don’t want you here.
I really do appreciate you taking the time to be on here and voice your opinion, I have no hard feeleings towards you at all and I hope you feel the same. There was an ovious misunderstanding of my point, I just know how it feels to buy something and not get what you are supposed to.
Dear Paul,
1st & foremost “THANK YOU” for all the information you provide us, the ones that visit your site by choice and appreciate your time & consideration while still making time to raise your beautiful children with your beautiful wife! I don’t even know about half of these deals & what coupons are available to even score these deals. It’s so easy to just point & click on direct coupon links that you provide to print coupons, yet I’m sure the ones that leave annoying comments wouldn’t even be able to score a majority of these deals without peeping your page??? Yet they wanna be the first to caste stones & get all huffy puffy!!!
IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT DON’T LOOK JUST LEAVE!
Thanks Bellina, I don’t think anyone meant anything nasty or mean, I just feel pretty strongly about that particular subject and don’t feel there is a lot of wiggle room on it.
I, too, think it’s theft. Last year, WM had some lunchboxes that had a free subscription card in them, but if you sent it in with “refund”, you could get a check back instead, essentially making money off the lunch boxes. I rightfully bought my lunchboxes in order to make the money (and we needed backup lunchboxes anyway), but I *did* have to unzip and check for the coupons because people were stealing them, too!
It’s like someone stealing the thermos out of a lunch kit. How is it any different? It’s advertised as coming with the product on the tag, just like the coupons are. It makes me so angry!
And jst for the record? NEVER taken a hangtag or a peelie that I didn’t use THAT day on THAT product.
Also, I think if anyone thinks you’re pointing out where to get free coupons (*laugh*) then WHY would you go through the effort of even putting together the deal idea with a photo and the price information? Really, people……
