Made an awesome trip to Wal-Mart. Retail with tax was $55.20 and I only paid $2.84. Got 4 packs of BIC pens, 4 bottles of white-out. 4 packs breathe right strips, 4 boxes carpet fresh, 4 Frigo cheese singles, 4 bottles KY (only because it was free with overage), 4 packs Schick Razors, and 4 containers of Vaseline!! Woohooo……

I have been searching for those breathe right for a gift for my father in law, they are no where in NY that I can find. Bummer. Also in Ny no robitussin to go. However I Love this site for the heads up on all the deals. About 90% work. Love getting free and passing things forward to those who need it.

people can do what they want.. and I am not trying to judge so please don’t attack me, but reading that ppl are using the KY for overage, really its costing you money… I mean technically… it is because you still have to pay tax on the product. Where I live tax is 7 percent and the KY is 2.98. So I actually end up paying 3.19 minus the 3 coupon is 19 cents that it costs, not 2 cents overage.
Perhaps ya’ll live where you don’t have to pay tax, but when I’m showing ppl how to coupon free doesn’t mean free… free means cost of tax and overage is only overage if it covers the tax that the product generates…
again please don’t barrage me with negative comments.
I am not trying to be negative…
    just food for thought.

Fortunately for TX residents, they do not pay tax for the amount of coupons deducted. If you bought $100 in retail items and had $50 in coupons, you would pay tax on only $50. So the KY is actually a true MM for Texas residents.

No so in many other states, including Louisiana. In the same deal above Louisiana residents would pay tax on the entire $100 purchase. And for the KY product, they would (Locally here 8.5% Tax) pay $0.24.

Also, milk in South Louisiana is $4.50 to $4.99 per gallon – Regulated by the State. In Texas it would be common to find milk on sale anywhere from $1.99 to $2.49 per gallon. There are so many rules, rules, and more rules.

Even still, if it is something you would normally buy anyways, 19cents is better than 2.98$, agree? It’s just moderation in the eye of the coupon beholder (: There are probably a million uses for KY, regardless whether you use them or not. My food tax is 4.975% and other goods are 6.975%. Not to say that you would give KY as a gift, but perhaps the lotion for example, would much rather pay the tax on it the purchase it outright. It’s still a money saver & moneymaker depending on the way you look at.

PS: Tax is normally NOT something you can get out of paying anyways 😉 for us ‘commoners’ anyhow.

oh yeah for sure getting it for the tax is still about as good as its gonna get most of the time…
I just know a lot of people that are just starting to coupon sometimes don’t take these things into account.
When I started couponing I bought some contact solution.
It was at CVS 9.99 with 9.99 ECB back so the blog said = FREE!!
        I was naive… actually that costs me 70 cents…
I was buying these items and giving them away… not thinking about paying the tax and if you start to add that up, it can add up quickly!

but for sure getting something for tax obviously a great deal.

I just don’t want someone who has to pay tax buy 20 KYs thinking they’re getting overage to only find out (where I live) that it cost them 4 bucks.

Oh I definitely agree, it’s just a whole moderation thing. And, I guess mindfulness. It is silly to think that it would be overage like that. Unless of course, you were still saving like 50cents+ I guess (overage onto the basket of course.)

Usually things that are ECB/UPR/RR Free, I will only buy it if it is something I can actually use, or know that someone else can. I normally just do RR at WAGS, but not often because several of the RR=FREE items are just not for me (:
I am sure some people probably do not take the tax into consideration at first, but once you start adding up your list with tax and all, it gets easier (:

if they are accepting the coupons they must pay the overage. this is not one of those things that is up to management.

In Maine 1/2 of the walmarts will not give you overage they decrease the value of the coupon so you get it free but no overage. I have brought the coupon policy and they just say that is only a suggestion but each walmart can make their own rules-managers gets the final word!!! I have called the corporate office and they say the same thing. UGH so confusing makes me want to give up on couponing I am only 3 months into it.

I am not sure how the questions are being worded so I am not sure. This is what I have been told by Walmart management. The management has the right to refuse any coupon. If they choose to accept it they cannot adjust it unless it states “up to” and then they MUST write the adjusted value in the top right corner of the coupon. If they don’t they will get reimbursed the full value of the coupon and any adjustments would be coupon fraud. This sounds like a manager trying to pad his profit margin, which is exactly how target found itself in a major lawsuit. That is what prompted the corporate policy change.

FYI – I submit a customer service complaint on the Walmart website they are very quick to contact you. I had a call back from the Store customer service manager within 24 hours after having an issue with them not accepting my coupons per the Walmart coupon policy. I felt very validated and was pleased that management took it so seriously.

For the Oral-B Floss..I don’t understand how it’s Free plus $.21? In (P&G 1-29-2012) I have a cpn for $1.00 off one Oral-B Floss which would make it Free plus $.04 overage. If it’s with the cpn you stated, wouldn’t you have to pay $.21?

I just added the $1.00 coupon, it wasn’t on their when you wrote your comment. I only had the $.75 coupon which is what we got here in Houston. So $.21 is correct. Some people got $1 and yes that would be free + .04. I have fixed it.

Alicia- I’ve done this many times. With P&G they are specific with there coupons. You can do only 4 of the same coupon per transaction. So with the floss being $0.97 and you have them ring up 4. Give them 4 $1/1 coupons. After the supposed overage and tax you will pay only $0.11 out of pocket for 4 packs of floss. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

that policy is for internet printed coupons. these are coupons from the sunday paper and they should accept them.I also have not had any issue with these coupons scanning so you must have a Walmart with an outdated system and they should know that and account for it.

I said it does not say that at all on the cpn so I did send a letter to corporate as this store seems ti make its own judgement and policies.. if u follow the cpn and policy make sure you stand up and speak out FYI because its not right in any way if u are following all policies correctly
