This week at Walgreens they have the Mars candy priced at 2/$1(1.1-2.17oz). Both items above are in that size range and are priced from $1.00 to $2.00 at Walmart.
You should be able to price match these to the 2/$1 price at Walgreens, use the coupon that you got in today’s paper and get them FREE!
Mars Easter Candy: $.50 (price match to Walgreens)
$1/2 M&M’S, M&M’s Minis, Minis Mix, 3 Musketeers, Twix Minis, Snickers Minis, Milky Way Minis, or Dove Silky Smooth Eggs, exp. 4/8/12 (RP 03/04/12)
Total: FREE!
The coupon was in today’s paper? Tuesday? Just checking so I can look in my paper I left at work.
Thanks!
Is this considered Easter candy?
Can you really price match the Easter candy with the regular candy price? In my Walgreens ad there is the Easter candy page and the M&M Eggs are 4/$3 not 2/$1. Is this “legal” to price match that?
There are some variances by region in the ads. You would have to go with what your local ad says. The wording is what you should pay attention to. It is all Mars brand candy and just has to fit in the size limitations.
I tried this yesterday with the Easter M&M pictured above, showed the cashier my walgreens ad and she said she could not price match it. I challenged her so she called her supervisor, I explained to the supervisor that the ad says Mars candy and I was following the rules on the size requirement, but they still would NOT price match the candy. Lately (since the Hanford store incident) I have not been able to price match nor use my internet coupons without being hassled by Walmart.
Alot of people have been having trouble using any coupons in the Hanford Walmart and Target since this incident. I’m fairly disgusted at how these stores are treating the public for the fraud their employees caused. Ive had some difficultly using them but seem to be able to use a few. All depends on the employee and manager working. I really hope this passes soon because I’m tired of the stores making up rules as they go along.
Paul, do you know if an individual store is allowed to make their own rules regarding the coupon policy?
They do have a fair amount of wiggle room. It is natural that there is going to be some increased scrutiny in that area for a while.
Hi Paul,
I’m following your site for awhile now. Yesterday I tried buying the M&M the $2 ,the round one. And the size doesn’t fall in the Walgreens range 1.1 oz to 2.17 oz. The M&M $2 is 1.0 oz. I thought I share…
I am not sure what you mean, it says on the tag that it is 2oz. There are 2 different eggs and the $1 round egg is only 1 oz I believe.
Just wanted to say how much I appreciate you putting a picture of the ad up and circling the item. Sometimes I just don’t see the items being refered to so it is very helpful.
