With Labor Day Weekend coming up the stores have gone all out. The deals are so good in fact I didn’t limit it to just 5. Even though it really hurts, I must say that Kroger has really killer deals this week. HEB & Randalls are no slouches either. Albertsons is just okay. I am not sure what you are asking, are you referring to a specific deal or how does price matching work in general?

Yes, you can find other deals at stores that have a better price and get those items at Walmart for the same price. The idea is that Walmart wants you to shop there and to do that they will give you the same price as you would have gotten if you went to the other store.

Is it just me or does it seem like Wal Mart has raised their prices across the board ? For those who do not price match they are paying MORE for Wal Mart prices. My parents ONLY shop at Wal Mart and are on a fixed income so I am helping them learn to coupon to help offset these outrageous grocery prices.
I look at prices all day everyday and overall Walmart is the lowest. There are items that they are more on but that is where price matching comes in.
Also for the Old Spice Deoderant on sale at Kroegers there is a $1/2 Old Spice Products coupon that expires today. Making them .49 ea. yay! 🙂
Walmart is getting very difficult to shop at for me. I went in lastnight and priced matched with kroger and used coupons (manufactor coupons) on the stuff I priced matched and it was ok. I went back tonight to do the same thing and they acted like I was trying to steal there stuff. One walmart told me they couldnt price match because the price was based off having a card. I know they do but I didnt have my policy so I walked out. I came home got my policy and went to another walmart. They acted like they couldnt do it then acted like I was bothering them and they priced matched it and was trying to hurry me up to get out of there store, then when I went to use a coupon she told me no that she would not take coupons on top of price matching, that price matching was my coupon. I asked her why would they do it one night and not the next and she told me she didnt know that she was at home yesterday not there and she was not going to take the coupons. I try to be very polite while using coupons and I always ask if im not sure. During the beginning of this process I told her that I liked coming to their walmart because they were so nice and the lady flat out told me “Im not commenting on that cause I know why people like to come here” So i did look at her kinda crazy and said huh? I said well i come here because of that and she said well I know why yall people like coming here and then rolled here eyes!!!! I almost snapped!! I mean really! Sorry to write this is so long but I am so fustrated right now, I needed someone to vent to!! My husband was with me and he will be calling wanting to know what “yall people” mean! Lets see what the answer is to that!!
Jean, I’m sorry you had that happen. Next time when you go to Walmart have the coupon policy printed out and WITH YOU. Understant the policy so you can have it ready to show. Be firm in your answers and make them short. Example: I would have told her that is incorrect and here is the corporate policy advising different. (I actually have mine highlighted to show the girls who know nothing that they aqre wrong) And if she pushed futher I would have asked for the store manager. BOTTOM LINE: Walmart will match ANY advertised price no matter what…THEN you can use you coupon with that matched price.
TIPS: find a checkout with no one behind you, advise the clerk you are pricematching and couponing as well. Make it easy for them…I always bag my NONE price matched items first THEN on same order begin the price match items. After all that I then give them my coupons. And if they ever try to say it didn’t work becuase of the beep on their computer…it’s their fault and I make them see that…because all my coupons are checked for exp date, items offered and amount.
You have to go in knowing more then the person who could care less. Remember that there are several people who come in with 900.00 or more orders and they price match. Don’t let them bully you.

Thanks for tips!! I really try to have everything with me and I did let the lady know that I was price matching. I think what got me was the comments! I have a hard time staying cool when they get the attitude so to avoid problems I just make them take it off my oder! They make it so hard to want to shop there!
Did my first pm trip and even individually tagged all with price, store, and item … I did all the work and had 3 people moaning and groaning for about 20 minutes at the Pendleton Indianapolis.
Up to Fishers Walmart today and told no to more than 1 identical coupon … I had 4 like items with 4 like coupons with no restrictions stated. So a stated I would gladly accept 4 transactions. Then told no to overage, I gently corrected her as she tossed each receipt at me. Was disappointing, sometimes feels like I am the worker in the transaction.
Just a gentle reminder all- bring your coupon policy with you ALWAYS and do not be afraid of calling Walmart CorporateRIGHT THEN and there!! Walmart is down on sales overall, the lady at corporate specifically told me they areworking HARD to get customers back that they have lost o competition…Target, etc… couponers are WELCOME at Walmart but their employees need to be educated!! IF we stick together and help this process, it will benefit us ALL!!

Thanks for the PMing list. I went to WM last night to PM the Gillette along with a few other items. Total b4 PMing and Qs was $69 and after was $10.69. I also left a ton of Qs for other shoppers since they were expiring. I even had a lady give me a hug since I gave her a bunch of Qs to use. Thanks for the info. 🙂
Paul- I know you shop the same WM’s as me in The Woodlands area….last night I went to 242 WM and went to P/M the gillette body wash (kroger) and they said they would not give me the $1.99 price. BTW I was buying (4). The cashier was super nice and said I just got written up for honoring this and I can’t afford for that to happen again. I was very understanding…I asked him why he can’t honor it and he said bc you have to use the card to get that price. I stated the policy and the commercial and asked nicely for a manager. She came over and at first glance said yes it’s $1.99 then he said “then why did I get written up the other day for doing this” she grabbed the kroger ad glanced at it again and said oh no it’s $2.99 bc Kroger gives you money back at the end of the transaction and we definitely do not honor that. I said “KROGER?! MONEY BACK R U SERIOUS?” she said yes ma’am. I said where here in thy does it say that you don’t honor an ad match using a rewards card? I restated the commercial which says I don’t even need the ad (it was actually on the tv as this was happening also) She said oh it’s on there…”in the fine print, both on the commercial and in the policy” I said okay I won’t be buying these…paid out went to Kroger bought the last 4 and what do u know..no cash back! I called the 1-800 number to find out why they are doing this bc other people in my coupon club have had this same thing happen at that same exact store a LOT. And also bc that cshier should not have gotten written up for following the “correct” rules. Corporate will be calling me back today/tomorrow. Hope this changes and I hope I was in the right… bc that is NEW TO ME.

My Walmart shopping experience was alright. Some of the items I could not find. Ater looking for an hour, some are not sold in my store.
