Reader Robyn had a very unique thing happen to her this week. She wanted to make sure you might be able to get a great deal also!
Robyn was in her local Little Ceasars today buying a $5 pizza: They had stacks and stacks of $0.75/1 coupons for Sierra Mist Natural. I asked the manager how many I could take. He said, “As many as you want”, and pulled out another BOX. Randalls(Safeway) has the 2…L bottles on sale for $0.88, but did not have a very good stock of them. I went to Walmart and asked them if they had enough for me to make a large purchase, and they did. I price-matched at Walmart and bought a total of 168 bottles of Sierra Mist Natural for (insert drumroll here, please) $23.64!!!!!
These coupons expire on MAY 17th. If you have a Little Caesar’s close by you might want to head over and see if they have any!
What state or city r you in?
I could not find the coupon for the noxema 2.00 off in the RP 5/1/11
or the goodlife catfood coupon in the RP 4/17/11
if anyone could help that would be appreciated.
Icouldn’t find either of them also. I’m thinking maybe my area didn’t have them in our section,{ Chas.SC }.
At my local Wal-Mart (95961) they said I cannot price match AND use a manufacturer’s coupon on top of that.Either price match from another store or keep Wal-mart’s price and use the coupon. I’ve wrote to corporate but they haven’t responded.Paul,I know you were looking into it,have you heard anything from them??
You can absolutely use both. The store should actually want you to use the coupon because they will get some of the price match money back in the S&H.
Paul,
I tried to do the price match plus coupon last week with the clean and clear bodywash and they said they could not do it per their policy. I price matched the bodywash from walgreen’s that was BOGO and then had a BOGO coupon for the product and the manager told me they were not allowed to do that because I would be getting both products for free and that was not allowed. Is this correct or should I have pressed the issue? It really upset me since I was looking at a flyer hanging on their registers that reads we accept all price matches and MQ coupons. Was I doing something wrong?
On price-matching a BOGO ad, there must be a price included. IE: Buy (A) at $, get (A) free.
Hey Sara, today I pricematched Staples for the Scotch tape deal and then was able to use the manufacturer’s coupon, so I bought 10 of them for free! What I did was I first tried it with just one, to see if the cashier would allow it, and then he did, and I was like “Hey, this is great! I’m going to do more!”, so be sure to test the waters first. I think if they see you bring a ton of items up right away, they get defensive, and don’t want you to succeed. I think there are mind games involved in couponing.
Bill, Congrats on the tape!Great deal! You’re right I always feel as if they never want me to use coupons, and none of the cashiers seem too pleased when I bring my stack of coupons and ads up to the register. It’s not that hard to comprehend.(I worked at there)
About a week ago I price matched some Hamburger Helpers and then used a MQ on it and had no problems. (=
Wow How Neat !!! =)
How long will it take you to drink 168 bottles? And will you drink them before they expire?
Great question
I say “party at robyn’s house” lol
Because of this is that we are now being limited to buy as much at other stores…
I just wanted 2 bottles of the Natural sierra mist at my local walmart but guess what??? the shelves were empty 🙁
This happens to me a lot of but I go and ask an employee if the have more in the back. usually they do keep more in stock. It takes a little more time but you are still getting your items!!
I left what was in the soda aisle alone. I got my 168 bottles from the front-of-the-store display. Plus, there were still 2 bottles left on the display, that I did not want to dig to the bottom to get.
168 bottles?! I hope some were donated
That’s not any of your business. Maybe she has a large family… that’s not up to you.
First of all….congratulations to Robin for getting a great deal! Way to go! Secondly, she did nothing wrong. If you go into the store and see that there is plenty of the product you want to buy, why not buy it? Wouldn’t you? Of course you would. You may not admit it, but you would. The limits are being imposed because the popularity of couponing has caught on. If you ask your store, they will actually order more product for you!!! Bizarre concept I know for those people that just want something to complain about! So instead of trying to hate on someone who has done her research, followed the unwritten rules, and gotten a great deal, take responsibility for yourself and go when you get the coupon, have your store order more product, or better yet congratulate a fellow couponer for her good fortune. They will restock!!! If you can’t do that then…shame on you!
I think, if the manager had no problem with this, and as long as she didn’t clear any shelves, then good deal. I would never go to such extremes, but that’s my beliefs. I would love to be there when the vender comes back in to check on his stock and finds out though! Yes, for anyone that doesn’t know and for those that just really could care less, things like chips, soda, little Debbie item, beer and bread , are Not stocked by the store but by company venders who do the ordering and RESTOCKING. Just a little something for everyone to think about.
well said muzanne….
Thanks for the support!! Love it!!
well said Muzanne!
YES WELL SAID, Muzanne =)
Totally agree with Muzanne! 🙂
Have to agree with Muzanne!
wish i could get this deal in az
Did anyone find the coupons at their Little Ceasars?
My son manages one and he had tons in his store that don’t expire until Sept
Thank you Robyn! I’m glad you got a great deal and i’m glad you shared so others could as well 🙂
I wish my Little Caesar’s had the q:( They just said they offer the free Sierra Mist Natural with a deal promo:( Oh well,GREAT GOING for you Robin:)
Well if I know my daughter, some of those will be donated to the Senior Center we have here. Others will most likely be at my house, but with two growing boys, much will be consumed.
RD
What a great way to pay it forward 🙂
The coupons I got don’t expire till 9/30/11 so now I have to find th ad to price match.
I know Robyn from High School. She donated half the bottles to charity. I know that she does that with everything she finds at the stores that have great prices on items.
Well said Muzanne !!
well to you alls surprice i did tha same. I went to my local lil caesars and got coupon. I got 40 sierra mist and payed 10.00 for ALL of them. Hey you never know maybe they are good for th.e 4th of july party. LOL
I’m a little confused, I have the little ceasars promo deal w/free sierra mist. But how are you using the deal? What are you saying to them to get the free soda?
If you go into the Little Ceasars, they will have maunfacturer’s coupons next to the registers.
The soda is not free, but, if you can, find a deal to price-match, that’s how you get such a great deal. I’m sure there will be numerous sales to match between now and Labor Day. Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and the summer months are the times of year that sodas will be at stock-up prices.
I see above that someone else was able to get 40 bottles price-matched to a Kroger’s ad for $0.84. Safeway has them on sale through 5/17 for $0.88 a bottle. That’s $0.09-$0.13 a bottle. Make sure you take your ad and coupon policy with you!!
Thanks for the info! I scored 68 coupons at Little Caesar’s, price matched Kroger’s .84 sale price, also price matched Walgreens Scotch tape sale and used 15 coupons for that, and finally got four bottles of KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce by price matching Target for $1.09 and using four $1/1 coupons. My total before taxes was just $1.38 (because the Scotch tape deal was a $5 money maker!!!)!
I’m printing out my Scotch Tape Q’s right now!!
Please explain how the deal was rung up at Walmart for the Scotch Tape. Did they ring each up to equal $1.99/3. How many coupons did you use? Thanks!!
My Little Caesars had the coupons and they expire onh 12/30/11. Woohoo!
I had free manufactor coupons given to me by friends and walmart said only one per day and same goes with coupons that are for example $.75 off an item that states per item. They wont let me do seperate or multiple transactions anymore just one per day. Is that right? Walmart store is in upper texas.
No, Isabella that is rediculous unless the coupon says “one coupon per transaction, one transaction per day” and I imagine it probably says “one coupon per purchase”, that is not a transaction but sometimes gets interpreted that way.
Whoo hoo I did this run and got 74 bottles for $11.10. My family is set for the summer as well as my mom and brother house.
Love it!!
I want to say Thankyou to all the fellow Extreme-Couponers for all of the support!!
On another note, I do feel that it is always important to give what you can afford to give to others in need. I volunteer at a local Serving Center 3-4days a week. I feel like giving my time every week, and a little-bit from our family’s stockpile every month is something I can afford to give since I have started stockpiling from couponing. I always pick up multiples of at least one item, whether it is something my family will use, or something I can donate, when I coupon each week.
For those of you who assume that because Extreme-Couponers go to such extremes to get a huge stockpile they should HAVE TO donate, is silly. There is no rule that says because we take the time to clip, sort, research and save to the max, we MUST donate any overage in items we have accumulated. It is an individual choice, one that my family has chosen to do. I applaud anyone who has the time to coupon, price-match, and save like a pro. Why pay full-price, when the manufacturers will pay for part or all of it, by giving the consumers coupons. What anyone chooses to do with their own stockpile, is just that. Their choice.
That’s my child.
