You can dice it up for salads, or you could even make sandwiches with it, I like it on paninis.
Make egg mcmuffins! All you need is English muffins, cheese, eggs (they poach theirs but it is good with scrambled) and Canadian bacon!
Bacon and Noodles: (A German Recipe my dear OPA(grandfather) used to cook for us)
-a package of egg noodles
-Canadian Bacon
-1 medium Onion
-Salt, Pepper
-1 tbsp grated Parmesan Cheese
-italian salad dressing (optional, though my hubby loves it with the dressing, i use about 2-3tbsp)
-cut bacon into small squares, brown in a skillet
-cut onion in small cubes, saute in a skillet (you could add them to the bacon if you want, but i am so picky about onions it’s not even funny. lol)
-cook noodles (make sure you add some Butter once you’ve drained and shocked the noodles) ;))
-add bacon and onions to the noodles
-then add the seasonings and toss a couple of times
-make sure everythings nice and warm, then serve with a side salad
PS: if you’re not using the italian salad dressing, i like to just pour ketchup over this dish, i love ketchup with it.
You can also add things like scrambled eggs, regular ham, etc.
I love this dish because it’s super cheap to make especially since I usally have everything in my pantry/fridge already. AND it reminds me so much of my OPA, I always think of him when I cook this. As a matter of fact I may just run to the store with this coupon and get some for tonight ;))
Hope you’ll try it!
I use Canadian bacon on my husbands breakfast sandwiches. I make 6 at a time and put in freezer. I use a microwave egg cooker and add the bacon before I cook the egg. Put on croissants from the bakery dept at Wal-mart and add a slice of cheese. He loves them!
Does anyone know how much the hormel Canadian bacon is at Wal-Mart?
Thanks Beth, that sounds great! I have been reading through you emails about double couponing and all. This is a question off the subject. If all coupons can have 1 dupilicate, can you scan one? Is this okay or wrong? I want the stores to get what they should and not get the money for it when they should! Very new to couponing, had a horrible experience at a Food Lion with the splenda coupon. They would only take one $3 and not any more. They wouldn’t take my computer printed coupons either. The manager was soooooo rude that I will never go back there again. This is after I had waited in line for her to come back from a break for 25-35 minutes. She was the only one in the store that could do an overide and went on a break. I thought of that when we were talking in line about the duplicate coupon today.
Also, I went to Walmart on Sunday. When I looked at my receipt, none of my coupons showed up. What should I have done? It was so terribly busy that I didn’t go back in but I had already left the store. Several were Weight watcher coupons and splenda coupons. I felt horrible knowing all those coupons were waisted! I saw her scan them but I guess next time I should watch to make sure that they scanned on the register? and then always look at my receipt when they hand it to me?
This is a great coupon for the bacon. KB You should check your receipt before you leave and if there is a discrepancy see customer service to correct it.
I don’t know what the price is at walmart but these are $3 at target.
